Hi just wanted to say hello, I am new to this site, but not new to the atkins diet.
About 8 years ago I lost 4 stone on the atkins diet over a 9 month period.
Since then I have had 16 operations on my knees and now have both total knee replacements (aged 44, well in just under 2 weeks time), the last one being almost 7 months ago when I had a partial removed and a total put in.
Therefore over this time due to lack of mobility and having to leave my much loved midwifery job I have yet again piled on the pounds!
So here I am again started yesterday needing to loose about 4 and a half stone! (63lbs!)
Its approximate as my knee replacements are a lot heavier than my original knee joints, I actually weigh 15st 2lbs at 5ft 8in, and could take off approx 7lbs for the knee replacements, so will really have to go by comfort in clothes I think.
I also gave up smoking 10 months ago which hasn't helped with the comfort eating, so could really do with some on going support to get me really into the dieting again.
I am looking forward to meeting you all and hope I can give some support back too.
Kindest regards
Jules
