  • New to the boards. Hi!

    Hi my name is Melody,
I am 46 years old, wife and mother of 3, my oldest son 23, middle son 15 and daughter 9.
I am a nurse, girl scout leader and busy mom.

I was an athlete, swimming and martial arts mostly, but did many other sports as well. After my daughter was born I never lost the weight I gained.
My Goal weight is 142 lbs. I started dieting on Jan 2. I started on one diet (Scarsdale) and lost 12 lbs and then hit a plateau. I started induction 2 1/2 weeks ago and have lost another 12, but it continues to be steady.
I try to exercise daily whether I walk with hand weights during lunch on my long days at work or dashing to the gym for light weight and cardio.

Glad to have fellow Atkins people to connect with. There is an amazing amount of neg and incorrect information floating around.

Yes, that's one reason why reading the book is critical!

Awesome start. Glad you found us and joined.

There is an amazing amount of neg and incorrect information floating around.
This board uses Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002, and we don't even agree with the Atkins? - Official Site - is a powerful life-time approach to successful weight loss and weight management. site as they push the shakes and bars that are really frankenfood and have a tendency to stall folks.
Sounds like you'll fit right in with us. Welcome again.

Re: New to the boards. Hi!

Thanks for all the supportful posts.
Now I want to know how to dress up my posts like many of you here.
I see lots of posts with before and after pictures, goals, tickers etc, and would love to add them to my posts too.

My avatar is a picture of myself in a dress I am trying to get back into by 2/27/10 as my short term goal. But how do I do before and after pictures and place a ticker?

The edit options are confusing to navigate for me. Most sites have a signature area?
I'm not sure of all the different options? which areas are with the avatar and which are below the post? Please help!

          Thanks
