  • I made Day One

I have been hesitant to post but here goes. I completed day one with success. I have tried and tried and tried this WOL I usually get to 3 p.m, or day three and binge. If I get through the dreaded 3 pm slump by day three I go on a sugar binge. I will be 50 this year and have a new grandbaby on the way so I want to get in shape and loss weight. I am at 185 and have been for about 10 years. My body seems to enjoy this weight. I want to get to 145, get my blood pressure down where I am off the medicine, and build strengh. My stradegy this go around is to take on day at a time and prepare for the bumps that I run into.
I am rereading the book, visiting the atkins website, and what really helps the most is visiting this site.
thanks to all the members who are the cheerleader.

    Welcome.
Sure hang around here. Check out the success forum and the Before and After pics. They are all very inspiring.
Throw out the temptations in the trash and have nothing around that will derail you. It is dramatic but it helps.

        Welcome to ADBB
You may be doing this already, but since you keep crashing while trying to start this, are you eating enough? Trying to think about the "why" you would crash so quickly. Eat, eat, eat, full fat, rich, luxurious food, especially the first few days. Now I'm not saying to 'stuff' yourself, but absolutely don't skimp. Cook up a bunch of stuff (casseroles, crustless quiches, egg salad, tuna salad, etc.) and be prepared so that when that binge hit's you are ready. I find (found, don't need it anymore), that for the 'sweet cravings' dill pickles worked wonders. And if you overeat a couple of dills the first few days, it won't be the end of the world (Alot better than the sugar).

In other words, if you're going to binge, be ready with the 'legal' foods. Best wishes on your journey....
