Hi guys, I am new to this forum and well, I guess to correctly doing Atkins as well. I have been trying to do it for 2 years but I could never follow induction correctly (I would eat hot dogs or other things thinking they were allowed for my own benefit ha) until now.
I'm female, 5'8. I have been on induction for 17 days now. I decided to do it for a bit longer than the recommended 2 weeks because I have a lot to lose plus it has been incredibly easy for me.
The first few days I did crave a few sweets and other carbs, and the first week I had a weird type of headache, like my body was getting used to not having glucose in it but after that, it has been the easiest diet to follow. I now only crave chicken, steak, some nuts (which I know are not allowed on induction but have very few once in a while) and a few veggies with olive oil and white vinegar.
I tell my friends and family it is the easiest diet to follow but no one really cares to join me in it. I guess they do not believe it can be that good to be true.
So, as of now I just wanted to say it's never been so easy for me to not eat carbs. Also doing Atkins, I don't get anxious, desperate because the calories are low or am only looking forward to my free day that week which is what would usually happen with all other diets.
Oh, and about ketosis, I have been ketosing since day 3. Sometimes it's a little darker, sometimes a littler lighter but I read that could have to do with water intake or exercise. I try to walk around some, and play some tennis a few days a week if I have time. But unlike other diets, I never worry if I don't get in a good workout since I feel I am eating as healthy as I ever have.
I know I've only been doing this for a little more than 2 weeks and I have lost a lot of weight and it does scare me to think I might reach a plateau (as many other people have mentioned) or my weight loss will slow down, but I guess that is only normal (the slow down) which is another reason I decided to join this forum. I'm sure just like I am having some great days like I have, I will probably have some tough ones.
Ok, I guess that is all for now.
