  • wellll, 4th times a charm?

    Well, about a year ago I began stalking this site, finally I joined and wanted to loose weight before I turned 21. My birthday came and went and I am still fat.

    Well, I have a new goal. I am going to Israel and Jordan in 3 months. I want to be able to fit in an airline seat comfortably. I want to loose at least 20 lbs. I'm not sure how much is possible to loose in 3 months.

    Anyway, my new plan is to not tell anyone I'm doing Atkins. I think that was my downfall the last 3 times. There are always nay-sayers.

    I am starting asap. Going grocery shopping tomorrow.

    I agree if your family/friends aren't supportive it's better to just not tell them so you can focus on you and your plan. 20lbs in 3 months is very reasonable if you stick to the plan and don't add anything extra in. Good luck and welcome.

      Welcome to the board!

      Yes, it is very possible to lose 20lbs. in 3 months and we are here to help, so keep us posted and ask any questions you may have.

        Hi and welcome back to Atkins --

        Congratulations on making the decision to get back on plan! I hope you have the 2002 DANDR (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution) - we follow this edition here.


        Exercise, take a no-iron vitamin and drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water. Check Linda's recipe site – wonderful recipes that will keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

          Thanks for the tips. The thing I have a problem with is drinking water. In the past I'd say I was chronically dehydrated from all the diet soda. I am kicking that habit though!

                I also do that. Now, I'm 22(still fat) and it's my first day on Atkins. I tried to lose some weight before, but always gave up. THIS TIME i will stick to my plan. To lose some weight until summer .

                  There are a couple water challenges going on -- one only lasts a week and one last the entire month...you might want to check them out. The sooner you change your mindset about water the better you'll feel and your body will appreciate it and thank you for it.
