i have alot of questions about this diet and health issues...there seems to be way to much oils and fats in this diet...i have done it before and lost weight but when i got to where i felt comfortable i just went back 2 my old ways and regained the weight back! right now im eating butter, eggs olive oil, chicken, tuna, steak and pork chops...im staying away from greens becuz i cant seem to get in deep ketosis with them in my diet at this time. im trying to go to the gym to do cardio and light work out but i seem to keep making excuses lately...i started on the first of the month but screwed up on valentines with alcohol and then 2 days of binge eating but now im back and im making an all out effort to stay on track! i read the atkins book but i dont feel healthy while im on this diet for some reason. right now im taking in about 7-9 carbs a day...i forgot the list of supplements and i need a list of them all if someone would be kind enough to list them for me...as of now im just praying to stick with it and i promise u all to do my best! anything anyone wants to tell me..id appreciate it! thanks for reading!!
Congratulations on choosing to become healthy. As you have discovered, this isn't a weight loss program. It is a life style choice. That means it is permanent. That's why it is so important to do Atkins properly--so you are getting your nutrients and learning how to make this a permanent choice without getting frustrated. You need your greens and veggies. There is no such thing as "deep ketosis" either you are in ketosis or you are not. The veggies give you nutrition and fiber your body needs and actually speeds up weight loss in many people. Your carb count is way too low. You should be closer to 20 grams with most of it coming from vegetables. Which book are you using? This site goes by the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution. Keep the correct book handy and refer to it often. It will save you heartache and frustration. Welcome to ADBB

"I've never come home after a workout and said, MAN, I wish I had NOT exercised today!"
but now im back and im making an all out effort to stay on track
But you aren't if you were you'd be doing induction properly and that includes your veggies. Of course you are feeling bad if you are only eating meats and oils. Your body needs more nutrition than that.

Or try this link- you are looking for her 11 in 3 series...It shows how to get 11g of carbs in 3 cups. Scroll thru menu 1, menu 2, etc. She did a lot of work putting this together:
Once you've read the book and are following the plan the way it's written you'll feel much better - make sure you're drinking enough pure water daily also - 64 ounces is the minimum -- more is better. Good luck to you.
