I am not sure how this will work out or if I am going to do the diet. I went from 212 to 172 with Jenny Craig and am up to 182 as I have lost all zeal for diet and exercise with stress adding to it all. I appreciate any help you can give me. I am a 52 yo mom of 4 and grandmother of 1 beautiful girl

Atkins isn't a traditional "diet" ... there's no end ... there's maintenance. Of course, that's true with other diets that people go off.
Are you reading Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002)? Why do you think you might or might not do Atkins?J.

I plan to start tomorrow. I have my list of things to eat and not eat etc to get started. I am going to go and get the book tomorrow morning. I think it is just the thought of starting another program and denying myself again of things I like even if it is for my own well being. I have been stressed lately and need to just bite the bullet and don't feel like biting the bullet.

And I like it. I'm sure you can do this to. You just need to be focused on it, you know.

I want to be healthy and feel good about myself again..I am 158 pounds, 5'4" and I am also on meds for high blood pressure .. I am starting induction tomorrow.. Will update as I progress ..thank you and good luck to you ...

Try to get vegetables in each meal to keep your blood sugars level -- it will help you loose better and keep you satisfied longer.
As far as feeling deprived, I can honestly say I've found a substitute for just about everything I ate before Atkins and don't miss much of anything....the induction period lasts 2 weeks and I honestly ate more during induction than I did before I was on Atkins....no reason to feel deprived - get it out of your head and you'll do much better.
Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily -- more is better but not less. Exercise is considered mandatory so go for a walk or something you enjoy doing. To keep from getting bored eating the same thing over and over check Linda's site -- I love the recipes I've found there. http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.
The 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) is the book you should be looking for when you go tomorrow -- it's what we follow here.
