  • Back on the Diet

    Hey,

I lost about 70 on the diet in 2002 in about three months in high school, and am looking to get back on the diet. Thanks for the great site

Welcome to ADBB and back to Atkins!

I hope you've come to realize that Atkins is a way of eating for life and not just a temporary diet.

        Re: Back on the Diet

I hope you have the 2002 DANDR (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution) - it's the edition we follow on this site. Exercise, take a no-iron vitamin and drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water. Check Linda's recipe site – wonderful recipes that will keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html

Since you've been on Atkins before there is a group "Second Time Around Club" STAC that has a daily roll call to keep tabs on each other - you might want to check them out.

        Good luck to you.
        Carole

          Re: Back on the Diet

Welcome, it will definitely work for you again but keep in mind it will definitely be different and likely a bit slower now that you are several years older. Try not to compare this time to last time just focus on doing it according to the 2002 book and concentrating on the process not the goal!

          FINAL GOAL 165

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

yeah I stayed on it for the most part throughout the years since high school, but lack of sleep and not playing basketball has hurt me

is it best for guys to take before and after pictures like this or with more clothes on, or what is the right thing, I saw girls post in bikinis but I don't want to get in trouble

                    Re: Back on the Diet

There's no "best" way. You can take pictures like that if you want, but there are all kind of wackos online, so think well before posting.

                      Re: Back on the Diet

Personally I prefer shorts to underwear. It's not like good fitting shorts will cover too much. I think shirtless is good for guys because most change at first seems to be in their stomach and chest/upper arms.

I love looking at the before and after pics there are some from guys and girls I wish I hadn't seen LOL

                        Re: Back on the Diet

You don't have to post any pictures at all -- or you can do headshots. It depends on how much of yourself you feel comfortable enough to expose to the entire internet. It's as easy to see how much your body has changed if you have shorts and a shirt on as just your underwear or a bikini.

                        Good luck to you.
