Just wanted to introduce myself to the other members of ADBB!

Hi I'm Amy. I'm 23yrs old and turning 24 in July! My start weight on the site was 208lbs and I am currently 191lbs . My GOAL is to reach 145lbs by my 24th Birthday! I'm sure I can do it!

I've been doing cardio for 40mins daily and weights every other day. I went to the tanning bed the other day and look like a lobster at the moment so my cardio will have to wait for the next 2-3 days till I'm no longer sore!

Still going strong! I had a minor weak moment earlier today but actually remembered the other members on this site and reminded myself that I am NOT in this alone. I hope that will inspire others to keep going even when they feel like they can't or don't want to! DO IT your WORTH IT!

I'll post pictures soon! When I reach 176lbs. Please leave any comments or suggestions. I'm open to hearing them!

    -Amy

    Welcome to ADBB!

You know that tanning beds are linked to skin cancer, right? Not doing it could save your life.

Hi and welcome! Just keep it up and consider moving to OWL soon. You will still lose, but if you go through the OWL rungs you are much more likely to keep it off and you have the benefit of adding foods to keep you from being bored. I generally am safe up to rung five and then can rarely add things after that without upsetting my losses, but having the variety helps keep me sane and makes me realize how I will eat for long term maintenance.

      HW (this time) 248
      GOAL ONE 228

      GOAL TWO 213 (personal goal)
      GOAL THREE 199 ONE-DERLAND

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

        Re: Newbie of Sorts-INTRO

Welcome -- I wish you luck getting to your goal. Just remember, if you aren't exactly where you want to be by your birthday you'll be much closer than you are now!! Good for you getting through your first "challenging" time as long as you keep remembering it's not worth it the better you'll do!!

A couple things that might help are ... plan meals a couple days in advance - that way you know what you'll be eating, the food will be in your pantry/fridge and you won't have to figure out in a hurry when you are tired what to eat. Linda's site has recipes that you can make up in advance and freeze a couple meals for future use. http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

Don't forget to drink pure water daily -- 64 ounces is the minimum, more is better! Nothing but water counts so if you drink coffee or tea don't count it.

Once again, welcome and good luck! Can't wait to hear about your success.
