  • New and introducing myself

    Hello Everyone

I am 33 soon to be 34, had twin boys almost a year ago (phew time does fly) and ready to get my pre baby body back and hopefully more than that. I was pushing 260lbs before I started Atkins about a month ago now I'm down to 239 as of this morning. Mind you most of the weight loss was water weight from weaning the boys off breast milk so I can't take all the credit for it

Anyway since I found this website I have been more consistent with my eating because I was going to give up based on the fact that I couldn't find nice recipes but Linda's low carb recipe site is just wonderful so I guess I'll stick around you all to get inspiration and encouragement to keep going.

    See you around.

Welcome -- Linda's site has wonderful recipes and is probably the biggest reason I've stayed with the plan as long as I have! Eating the same thing day in and day out wouldn't have been enough for me - I love the variety we have here and have never felt deprived.

Make sure you drink enough pure water (64 ounces is just the minimum -- more is better) if you have problems getting water in you there is a monthly challenge we have every month to help each other.

        Good luck to you.

Warm welcome aboard! Congrats on your success so far!!
With twin boys you should find the "exercise" part of Atkins taken care of to a great degree!

I agree with you... Linda's recipes are terrific!

            Re: New and introducing myself

Thank you everyone. Gosh you all are so warm. Ha ha I like that part about exercise being taken care of Sally. It is a lot of work but I wouldn't have it any other way, I find myself missing all the action when they're asleep! Drinking water is proving very difficult for me, how does the challenge help?

              What's difficult, exactly?

If you are having trouble drinking water get a glass to drink out of so you know exactly how much you are drinking (mine is 32oz) - I use a straw to sip out of the glass all day long....

You come to the thread everyday and post how much you drank for the day....many people find that once they pledge to something they are more likely to stick with it.

                  Re: New and introducing myself

Atkinsgal: mostly remembering to drink water. Because I don't get hungry as much I just don't remember to drink water and of course being so busy doesn't help.

Carole: Thanks I'll think about joining the challenge maybe it'll help.
