Adding more carbs won't necessarily slow you down. In fact many people lose faster when they enter the first few rungs. I understand your fear of portion control issues or cravings with nuts and berries but part of OWL is discovering which foods trigger us so we then know how to deal with them. I have leanred I have to be vigilant about measuring the number of berries I can eat because I ALWAYS am way too generous with them. Peanuts are something I avoid altogether because I do not have any self control once I eat the first few. But OWL is what helped me figure this out and so now I know that I can have almonds with no problem and berries as long as I am careful. In the long term I don't want to do without these things and without OWL I wouldnt know how to reintroduce them without some undesirable consequences. By introducing them slowly, and in controlled quantities, I am learning how to eat them properly for my body. Give it some thought.
