  • Hello! new to the board

    Hi,

Im Linda and I am new to the board. I am recently married and found myself getting comfortable and piling on the pounds. I tried Atkins years ago and thought I would try it again to get myself back on track!

      Welcome back to Atkins!

Read the 2002 DANDR (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution) - it's the edition we follow on this site. Exercise, take a no-iron vitamin and drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water. Check Linda's recipe site – wonderful recipes that will keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

Also many people start a journal to keep track of themselves. It’s also a great place to meet new people or find old friends http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/journal-chats/.

If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck.
      Carole

Thanks for all your support! Im on my 5th day now and feeling much better as i was having headaches and just feeling bad for a couple days like day 2 and 3. im having trouble finding enough variety of lo carb food to eat in this first phase. i did look at Linda's recipes but werent sure if they were ok for induction also need ideas for quick snacks, im trying to stock my pantry with items. I really want to make this work.
          thanks,

Many of Linda's recipes are fine but not all so you need to check the ingredients against the allowed foods in Induction. For easy quick snacks that you can do ahead try deviled eggs, buffalo wings with no breading or batter, raw veggies with a legal dip (I have made some good ones with cream cheese), or you can have pork rinds or microwave cheese slices for a quick crispy snack.
