  • Back after having my baby!

Well I had my daughter, Jaycee Laine on January 19th and I started back on Atkins on February 9th. Two weeks now and I've lost right at 8 pounds. I still have a long ways to go, but I've feeling very good about it.
My husband and I made a decision for me to stay home with both of our children. So, I stay much busier than I used to. Needless to say it seems like it's helping.
Anyways, just wanted to say hi to everyone and re-introduce myself!

Look me up on facebook and add me if you'd like to be each others support or just be friends.

No. Unfortunately, I was not able to.

        Sorry to hear that.

Do you find planning your meals easier now that you stay at home?

Most definately. And mainly because I don't really have to plan anything. I just eat whatever I am stocked up on.

Got a question. I've had success thus far with it, but want your opinion. I found a whey protein mix. I mix it with water and it's pretty much the same thing as the atkins shake mix. Have you ever used this? Or seen it slow down weightloss? I've already lost 8 pounds and starting in on my 3rd week... so it seems ok so far... it's not exactly the tastiest drink, but since I'm busy most of the day it is something quick to put in my belly.

          Thanks!

          xoxo

Once the beginner's enthusiasm fades, I bet there will be days when having a plan will be essential to making good food choices. In my experience, the sooner you get into the habit of planning your menus, the better you'll do, in the long term.

I found a whey protein mix
Whether it's acceptable on Induction or not depends on the ingredients. You would also need to add some fat to it, since Atkins is a high fat diet, not high protein.

Real food would be a better option, imo.

            Have you ever used this?
            Nope.

since I'm busy most of the day it is something quick to put in my belly
That's one reason why I believe planning is important. It takes about the same time to drink a shake as it does to eat a slice of quiche, for example. The quiche, however, requires some planning, since I'm sure none of us has time to cook one at any moment in the day.

              Hi Jessica --

What I've found helpful is to plan your meals for a few days so you have everything legal in your home. Linda's recipe site is very helpful with delicious recipes - it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html. I make a couple recipes each week and freeze extra portions so I have something different to eat - eating the same thing over and over or just grabbing whatever is in the fridge gets boring for me.

Exercise, take a non-iron multivitamin and drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), daily. If you need anything we try to help each other here as much as possible.
