  • I'm Back!

Hello everyone! I haven't been here for about four years since I fell off Atkins. I had originally lost almost 80 pounds and got myself into a size twelve. Slowly, bite by bite I let myself go back to my old WOE, had a baby, and now here I am again, 328 pounds as of last Tuesday! I had gotten down to 217 before...so basically a 111 pound gain. Last Tuesday after I went to the Doctor and had my weight checked I burst into tears. I cried for the rest of the day, and fought back tears for the next few following.

I have a long journey ahead of me, but I'm determined to stick with it this time throughout the long run. If I fall, I will pick myself up and dust myself off.

I have been back on Induction since last Wednesday. I emptied my cabinets and brought in all the goodies for folks at work. I went and bought an $800.00 Eliptical Machine and Jenny McCarthy's work-out for the Wii console with my tax refund. And a high tech Weight Watchers scale. So now I have NO excuse not to exercise, and can keep an eye on my weight.

On Sunday I checked my weight and was 324.6. I am also having that TOM so and was on a course of Steroids from the Doc's visit until Saturday. So I'm willing to bet even more will be shed when TOM retreats and now that I'm off the Prednisone things should pick up even more. Even if they don't, and I lose 1/2 pound a week, this is it. This is the real deal. If I don't change my WOL and my WOE for good, I could end up house bound, diabetic, or even worse, die from a heart attack

I'm in Lipolysis, and of course in Induction. I am going to stay in Induction for a while. I've got the "Atkins' Flu" and some leg cramps, but I'm taking vitamins and increasing water intake. Look forward to being part of ADBB again, and getting my life back.

Hi Juliet. Do yourself a favor and try to focus on process and not results. The results will take care of themselves. Welcome back to ADBB! We are with you every step of the way!

          Welcome back!

Why do you think extended Induction is the best course of action?

              # 1, I have over 100 pounds to lose
              # 2, It's the best cure for the sweet tooth, which is my utter weakness
              # 3, I'm not rushing it this time

Thanks for all your kind words ~

                Re: I'm Back!

Congratulations on the weight loss so far!

Since you plan to continue with Induction, take a look at your vitamin and mineral intakes in FitDay, to make sure you are getting proper nutrition. It's not only good for your overall health, but it also helps your metabolism run efficiently as certain nutrient deficiencies can interfere with weight loss.

If you are low in nutrients, you can use

                Nutrient Data Products and Services

                or

Find foods by nutrient - NutritionData.com

                to make better food choices.
