I'm gluten intolerant and need to follow a low-carb diet to keep my weight under control. The intolerance seems to have developed with age (I'm 66) and became a definable problem at about age 60. I'm pretty sure that my late father had the same problem in later life. I have tested negative for celiac disease by duodenal biopsy.

Re: Intro
Sorry to hear about the gluten issue. Are you planning to follow the Atkins program or just low-carb? Do you have the DANDR 2002 book? There is a great deal of wonderful information on this board. I wish you the best of luck!F /5'6"

Re: Intro
I did Atkins about 3-4 years ago, using Dr. Atkins 2nd ed. as a guide, and I continue on low-carb. The low-carb and gluten-free diets work pretty well together, and there's plenty else to eat. Losing 20# on Atkins and clearing up my gut and sinus problems with the gluten-free diet improved my outlook on life considerably!
