  • My Introduction

    Hi Everyone,

I started the Induction Phase of the Atkins diet on Feb. 21, so I am in my 5th day so far. Lost 2 pounds! This is my second time on the diet. I lost 15 pounds about a year ago. This is the only diet that has worked for me and I should not have quit the first time.

I am currently at my highest weight and feeling really bad about it. I just got layed off from my job and I refuse to sit home and overeat while feeling sorry for myself. Losing this weight I hate so much will be my way of taking positive action to improve my future.

The last time I was on this diet I felt alone and overwhelmed. I don't think I will have that problem this time around. The success stories and support here are wonderful and energizing. I cant weight to post my before and after pics!

Welcome to ADBB. Good for you for making some positive changes in what is a tough time otherwise. Post often and get to know some of us and you will definitely have a supportive group of people to keep you on track. Post even when you foul up or lose motivation. In fact that is when it is most important not to fall away from the boards. We use the 2002 version of the DANDR book here.

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

      Welcome!

Plan your meals for a few days so you have everything legal in your home. Linda's recipe site is very helpful with delicious recipes - it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

Eat foods listed on the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html, eating a variety of foods and vegetables and count all “net carbs” (carb minus fiber equal net carbs). Exercise, take a non-iron multivitamin and drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), daily.

Hey Tina, I'm new here too.. hopefully with some better choices and some exercise, we can both make our goals. I know we can do it, we've done it before, we can surely do it again
