  • Newbie here...I love atkins!

Hey there! I've been on the atkins program for a month now. I started with another program and learned quickly that I could transition to atkins, save a ton of money and eat more food!I am down 17 lbs total since Jan. 11th. Im so happy. I have been trying to lose this baby weight for 5 years now. I hope to start exercising, I broke a toe a couple of weeks ago so that happered my exercise. But, I think I can start. Will the weight come off faster with exercise? I only have 10 lbs left. Any advice or friednly hellos are greatly appreciated!

    Welcome to ADBB!

Exercise is a mandatory part of Atkins. You'll be healthier exercising, whether or not the weight will come off faster.

You might be gaining muscle mass, so don't forget to take body measurements as the scale doesn't know if it's weighing fat or muscle. Inches are a better indicator of fat loss.

Are you still on Induction? The last 5-10 lbs should be lost in Pre-Maintenance.

          What are you scared about?

What's your plan for maintenance and learning about food if you don't do OWL?

What do you think an extra 5 net carbs of Induction vegetables is going to do to you?

i exercise on my stationary bike for 30 min a day each morning and i try to walk about 20 to 30 min as well..I think my weight loss is faster with exercise but don't really know as i've been exercising since I started on jan 1, 2010.
I know i feel better so give it a try if you can..:0

              Re: Newbie here...I love atkins!

Welcome -- you don't have much to loose so you do really need to move to OWL and start adding foods back to your daily meals. Add 5 additional net carbs of vegetables - it's easy and part of the process to get you to your goal.

              Good luck!
