  • First week!

    Hey everyone,

    This is my 2nd time on Atkins, first time posting on the boards..I think I've been a lurker for a while. The first time I tried Atkins, I didn't really weigh myself, which was a mistake, but I do think I lost weight. However, I was not very imaginative with the menu and didn't stick with the WOL the first go-around, so I ended up gaining weight back.

    My husband is joining me this time around, he needs to lose about 30 pounds, he has high BP and borderline Diabetes. So I'm hopin this plan works for us. I'd like to lose 15 pounds to get back to where I used to be.

    I've printed off some recipes from Linda's Low Carb site, they look yummy so I hope that it all works out. I really enjoy reading the boards and am really motivated by everyone's success!!

    You're reading the book, Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002), too, right?

          Thanks for all the warm wishes guys!! I really appreciate it! We're very excited to start this WOL. My hubby really needs to get healthy!! He feels terrible all the time right now!

          To atkinsgal: Yes, we are reading the book, I've read most of it so far.

            I find that when I plan meals ahead for a few days it's so much easier for me. Linda's recipe site is very helpful with delicious recipes - it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html

              Hey Carole,

              Thanks!! I've tried a couple of things from Linda's site today!! The fried cheese sticks were delicious!! I printed out several recipes for the week and went grocery shopping yesterday so I think we're set! Hoping to see results by the end of the week!
