  • Back on the Wagon!

Hi guys, just thought I would re-introduce myself as I've not been here for about a year. This is my second time on Atkins. Last time I did it for about 4 months while I was traveling in Oz and lost about 40lbs which was about where I wanted to be. I stopped the diet when I moved to a backpackers hostel in the middle of nowhere (you know what it's like when you live in a hostel with lots of 20 somethings...especially in a place like Australia where people live for beer!). Anyway, I continued to lose weight while I was in the hostel as I was working quite hard labour 6 days per week in 100+ heat! However, after coming back to the UK and getting back into an office I have seen my weight gradually sneak back on because of a lack of exercise and those evil carbs that I kept shoveling into my mouth every meal time!! So I've made a positive move to sort it out and get the weight back down and hopefully be in good shape to enjoy summer (yeah we do get one in the UK...sometimes!). So second day in now, feeling surprisingly positive considering my lack of caffeine!!

Im pretty much just following the same pattern of eating that I did last time. For the first month or so I will probably only eat the following: (im not a fussy eater!)

Breakfast - 3 eggs scrambled with olive oil.

Lunch - Tuna, oz of cheese and cup of mixed salad with olive oil.

Dinner - 2 sliced chicken breasts (or other meat), cup of broccoli, maybe half a cup of salad with more olive oil and maybe some ginger or other fresh spice.

And of course, water, water, water! As soon as I finish a glass or bottle I fill it up again so it's always there.

That's enough of me rambling on, I'm looking forward to getting right back into this again. I have around 40lbs to reach my goal. But having just moved into a new apartment I don't actually have any scales so it's just an estimate, not too fussed about numbers though - I know it works - I've done it before and it will work again!!!

Thanks everybody for making this such a cool place for encouragement and inspiration!!

    Welcome back!

Why aren't you eating all your vegetables?

Hi AtkinsGal, I should have put on my breakfast that there is "sometimes" half a cup of spinach with the scrambled egg. I also think that my salad at lunch is probably slightly more than a cup, not much more. Of course, it does change from meal to meal but I try to get my allowance in.

        Trying?

Most of your net carbs should come from Induction vegetables. Is that true for you?

If not, how many net carbs are you getting in a day?

Welcome back. Hope it works for you again. Sounds like a great trip to Australia. I want to do that. Maybe not the 20 something part - getting too old for that one.
