  • this time it will work!

    Hi Everyone,
I'm very determined, and the good stories that I have read here are encouraging. Hope to be able to deliver a good story as well at some point!

      Welcome Ingrid!

Plan your meals for a few days so you have everything legal in your home. Linda's recipe site is very helpful with delicious recipes - it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html.

The 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) is our guideline here on the board. Eat foods listed on the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html, eating a variety of foods and vegetables and count all “net carbs” (carb minus fiber equal net carbs).

Exercise, take a non-iron multivitamin and drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), daily. If you need anything we try to help each other here as much as possible.

Thank you all for your kindness. For a long time I thought that I could lose weight alone. And I didn't care for forums. I didn't succeed. Now I'm here and I read the warm reactions and the encouraging stories...well that is so motivating. The before and after pictures are awesome. I know I can do it too. Linda's recipe site is great. I sure can use it because I have the tendency to eat too one-sided because of my busy/stress job. Thank you.

Re: this time it will work!

              Thank you Sham.
You have lost a lot. That is great! I'm going to follow your example!

I started out reasonably okay, but I'm standing still now for 4 days. Fortunately I didn't go up.
I know, I haven't been eating veggies every day, because it's so handy to just walk around with brie-cheese (0g carb) at work. And not thinking about cooking (actually I love cooking). But I feel that my bowels are full so I have good hope that I actually did go down.

Yesterday I decided to add veggies every day to my daily menu (for health and bowels ). I use 100g raw cabbage (4g carb) per day and mix it with fish or cheese or meat (no sauce). I don't dare to eat more veggies, because I'm scared that if I make some kind of mistake in carb counting (with the different cheeses), that I will be above 20g. So I rather stay on the low side.

Today I got my Ketosticks. That will give me more confidence about the carbs. I guess I could experiment a bit with the veggies and check myself with the Ketosticks, but it is a bit scary. I don't want to make a mistake and gain weight.
