Hi there!
Well- I'm back on Atkins once again!
Previously I used it back in grad school and dropped 40lbs in about 2 months-- it was in combination with a ton of walking and hiking and I never felt (or looked!) better.
Since then, I got married and we went way too many rounds (w/o success) with fertility meds and treatments, which PACKED the weight right back on me. SO, here we are now. Fat and still no munchkins. Not a great situation. Well, hubby is deployed (again...) and it's time for me to square up and fix this weight situation in any event! Prior to deciding to diet again, I was working out an hour a day and loving it, losing sloooooowly. Then I blew my knee out ...
So, here I am, 4 weeks from surgery, and determined not to let this derail me. I got back on Atkins last week-- I'm only down 5lbs, but that's alright- it's a start. I wish it were as dramatic as others I've seen, but hey- for someone sitting on their '6' I think it's pretty good! I'm sucking down water, eating clean, and jsut trying to lose it steady. I would like to be down 10lbs by surgery (3/31) so- I'm working on this!
Tonight I even cooked red meat for the first time in my life (carne asada from Trader Joes). My husband has never even seen me eat red meat before....
See? Dedication I tell ya..
Anyway- looking forward to 'working' with all of you as we all try to reach our pretty common goals!
