  • Hello from Manitoba

    Hello everyone,
I just joined this site today in hopes of receiving and hopefully given inspiration. I have read alot on here and realize this is a great group of people and I finally decided I wanted to be a part of it.

Anyway, alittle about me. This is my second time doing Atkin's. The first time was extremely successful and I lost 54 pounds and countless inches. What happened that threw me right off my path was a few things. My inlaws died, my father died and that was a very complicated time since it also involved my relationship with my brother. Basically I became depressed and just plain didn't care about me at all. That was about 5 years ago.

I am healthier now and just restarted with the induction. I started seriously thinking about it on Feb 20 but didn't start until Feb 26th. In the first week I have lost 7 pounds and feel so much better already. The only thing I can say is that I seem so restless during sleep, although I do not feel tired and know I am actually getting to bed earlier, which for me is really healthy since I was quite a night owl. Did any of you have this happen to you at the beginning?

I also have incentive for my weight loss, but the biggest incentive is my health. My youngest son is getting married later this year and I want to look good. Right now I am approximately a size 20 and I would love to get to a 12 or 14 by then.

My motto this time is "Be good to yourself". For me that means Atkin's, better lifestyle..sleeping, water, exercise, more active with friends, and doing the things that truely give me joy.

That's all for now. I hope to hear from many of you soon. Busy day ahead of me so I won't be checking back until tomorrow.

    Thanks,
    daledeb

      Welcome Daledeb!

I have been restless during sleep. It is because of my new abundance of energy!!!!! I was basically living with the metabolism of a cadaver....lol. But if it gets too terribly bothersome, I would suggest tylenol pm or a later bedtime. Give it another week and see if it subsides...if not, then there are options for restful sleep.

Hope to see much more of you here!
      Best Wishes!!!

Exercise helps you sleep better too. Welcome to ADBB. You have already taken the first steps in "Being good to you" by returning to Atkins.
