  • New to the board but not to Atkins

    Hello all,

I am Rick and My wife is Lorelee. Lets see....where to begin. At one point in my life back in the mid 90's I was over 400 pounds. I had the gastric bypass surgery and dropped to 256. I stayed there quite some time and slowly discovered that just because you can't eat much the wrong foods will pack on the pounds. I got back up to 330 and went on the Atkins plan. I dropped to 250 and have fluctuated back to about 280. So we just finished the two week induction and so far so good. I get a lot of my recipes from the lowcarbfriends.com site, which has been very useful. My wife and I plan a trip to Alberta Canada where she is from in August and we are determined to be true to the Atkins way of life so we can shock her family and friends when we show up again. I am an assistant police chief and she works in Medical Records at the local hospital. Thats about it in a nutshell. I look forward to a successful journey to weight loss.

            WElcome... to both of you....

I already think you must be strong.. not to weigh.. I'd go crazy without a scale. .. of course sometimes it's what DRIVES me crazy.. but I have to know...

but.. you're right.. the size ... that's a good way to measure progress too..

            2-15-10 194.8 - highest ever!
            2-20-10 190.4 - new scale
            3-20-10 177.8 - 1 month
            5-10-10 169.8 - 25 pounds gone!
