Hello everyone.
I was referred here by a person who happened to see a post I made inquiring about the Atkins diet.
I had, since making that post, done some research and am in the last couple of days of my Induction phase. I've been really good about following the plan, but I still would like to chat with people who have done that and more because although I've read a LOT about Atkins, I feel it's easier to comprehend when I can talk to a real person and ask questions of someone that's actually done it.
I'm 41, a mom of two teenagers and have since the birth of my daughter, struggled with losing weight. I exercise daily and lost some weight doing that, but I seem to have hit a plateau and really need to change my eating habits for good if I'm to get down to the weight I want, and be able to maintain.
I quit smoking four years ago and found that even though I was watching what I was eating, I gradually and continually gained weight. Since that time, I've felt healthier since working out almost daily and just being more active.
I am doing this for myself and nobody else. I am in better shape physically now than I was at 21, even though I weigh more. I was an unhealthy thin, so I would really like to be strong, fit and lose weight.
Anyway. Thanks for reading my rambling.
