  • Introduction

Hi. My name is Tess. I started the Atkin's diet late 1999 and lost 45 pounds. I was real proud and kept the weight off for some time. However, when I started adding more and more carbs back into my diet, I must have lost my mind and will because the weight kept creeping back over the years. I dieted prior to my wedding in 2007, but oh sweet adorable - the parties with the food and the booze! Shortly after the wedding I became pregnant and of course didn't diet during that time or during the time that I breast fed the baby. Now here I am. The baby is 15 months old today and I can't call it "baby fat" anymore and get away with it (not that I ever felt "baby fat" was a valid excuse for the extreme weight gain, but people said it and I just went with it). Anyway, I'm sitting here now at over 200 pounds and determined to get back to 135 which was my lowest weight on the diet previously. No more excuses. I look forward to the support I can expect from this group. My previous diet was successful due in large part to the support I received and comradarie I felt when I was a member of a low-carb support group. Thank you in advance for your help and encouragement and I look forward to providing the same in return to others.

    Tess

      Welcome.
Love to hear more about your journey.
Congrats on having a little one that is 15 months already and probably moving around quite a bit. You will get plenty of exercise

Keep in mind your body may be a bit different than last time so have patience with it.

        Yeah - baby was 11lbs 4oz and I had a c-section so I anticipate that being a major problem.

squishing my belly into a pair of size 8 pants... ending up with a flabby hanging belly where the muscle and tissue damage is on my abdomen.
