    I'm currently on day seven of induction and I have lost about oh 70lbs or so without Atkins but being insulin resistant I reached a place where no amount of exercise or calorie restriction was helping me at all; so I decided to try Atkins.

    So far this week I've lost 6lbs.

        No I am not reading the book (yet) but I did read all the information avail on the offical site and that was enough to get me started.

          One thing to be aware of - the advice given on this board is in keeping with the 2002 edition of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR for short). That was the last book written by Dr. Atkins. The official site is run the company that took over after his death, and their information differs from Dr. A's book. So that is why you will see conflicting information.

          Give it a look, and post any questions that you may have in the appropriate forum. We have a forum specifically for Induction... read through the posts there. Also, I tell everyone to look for the "stickies" at the top of the forums... these are posts that are imortant, and therefore "stuck" at the top of each forum. Good stuff!
