  • Average Weight starting week 1

    Hello,
I am starting Atkins today and weighed in at 199 pounds this morning. I am not far from my goal of 185 pounds. I am interested to see how effective this diet is with somebody who does not have much to lose.

I see people on this forum saying they losing like 10 to 15 pounds in the first 2 weeks. I want to see if those are in the cards for me as well. Alright wish me luck in this new adventure.......

    Welcome to ADBB.
Who knows what will happen but for about 99% of us those last few pounds or kilos are the hardest to lose. Also if you plan to lose weight cutting down on unhealthy carbs you should look beyond induction and how to maintain the weight. That is even harder than dropping those last few pounds.

I love to hear how you do though. Good luck

      Welcome, Justin!

Are you reading the 2002 edition of Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution?

Are you considering doing Atkins for life or are you just doing an experiment?

With only 10 lbs to lose, you could start in OWL. The last 5-10 lbs are supposed to be lost in Pre-Maintenance.

I see people on this forum saying they losing like 10 to 15 pounds in the first 2 weeks.
People who lose that much usually have a lot of weight to lose... not 10 lbs.

        I second that....
