  • Excited!!

Evening atkin dieters, I'm a 31 year old female with a weight problem I had after I had my daughter 5 years ago. I was very presently surprised when I read the atkins books very impressed and excited about my new way of life.

My weight currently is 198lbs and a BMI of 36, I am on my 2nd day of my induction and in ketosis with a 1lb loss yehhhhh! But today I was craving sugars badddddly so I tryed having stewed rhubarb with splenda for sweetness but I'm not too keen on the taste of the splenda yuckkkk. So I will be trying stevia which is zero carbs or truvia, wish me luck.

And if anyone can suggest ways to curb cravings it will be very much appreciated.

    Re: Excited!!

    Lots of luck to you.
    Welcome to the board.
So did you read the book written by Atkins (the 2002 - new diet revolution?)

You will have some cravings - the best thing to try to do is not to eat sweetener but eat something fatty or proteiny and try to overcome cravings. Some find a pickle may work.

        Re: Excited!!

Just wait it out -- I had terrible cravings (and felt generally awful) for the first 3-4 days but by day 5, I had no cravings at all... for the first time in my adult life.

                Re: Excited!!

I have not seen soy flour with that much fiber. Was the label correct? What brand is it? I don't know what you mean by gold. That you may eat unlimited amounts or something. Not everyone likes it. And some people think we should not eat too much soy. Because of my thyroid I restrict soy in my diet.

                  Re: Excited!!

I'm trying to send a picture of the nutritional information, if that's possible please let me know how to post pictures up on here. Yes Liv, cos I'm dying to make pancakes but I know it doesn't agree with everyone and it's not really good if using it frequently.

I have so many questions to ask lol! Can anyone tell me (by personal experience) if L glutamine supplements helps with cravings?

You're in England, so you don't subtract the fiber.

Fiber isn't considered a carbohydrate, so the net carbs are 12.

You could use flaxmeal (linseed meal) to make pancakes.
