  • Newbie first time on Atkins

Like all with age, stress divorce and time I have hit my heaviest weight without being pregnant. I need to loose 50 pound my bf had done Atkins years ago and so we have started. However I have only read thing online and am not sure I am even starting it right. I have been on for three days now. Not sure anything is happening other then being bored with food and wanting everything I cant have. It is also hard with the kids still in the house they want everything I cant have. Also my youngest has her fathers genes and is to heavy for her age is Atkins something I could/should try her one? Really need a lot of help and support have a hard time sticking with things and get discouraged easily.

Fortunately for you, the first few days are the worst and you are almost past the tough part. Stick with it and in another day or two your cravings will be gone. As far as your youngest child goes, I don't think that cutting sugar and refined carbs is unhealthy for anyone but I'd consult your pediatrician before putting her on any sort of diet.

      First, welcome aboard.

Second, please get Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution book 2002. This will help you understand this WOE, he also has recipes in there as well. You do not want to get board with the foods you are eating.

Third, I wouldn't have your youngest following Atkins diet unless her doctor agrees.

I hope this help you on your new WOE

Thanks I just ordered the book and trust me I would not put her on it without seeing the Dr. first just thought I would get others opinions on it. She is almost 12 and she is about 5'2" and 170lbs last we had her checked. But I will be talking more to the Dr. before doing anyting with her.
