  • Hello everyone

    Hi everyone! My name is Raina and I will begin my atkins program tomorrow. This is the only weight loss program I have not tried in my fight to win the battle of the fat! The weight has gradualy creeped on over the years whereas now I am forced to face the reality that I have not been at a healthy and flattering weight for over 18 years! How did that happen? I mean I know how it happened... but why have I let it happen? Anyway... here I go again... and I hope and pray to actually succeed this time. I currently weigh over 220 lbs. and I would love to see 172 again. That number has not registered on the scale for almost two decades. Where does the time go? To think I have been wanting to lose weight for almost 20 years. Well... here I go one more time.

    Welcome aboard, I know if you stick with it you will succeed in this WOE. If you do not already have the DANDR book please get it and read it. It has so much information for you.

      Welcome, Raina!

      Instead of thinking about Atkins as yet another diet, think of it as your new way of eating. It's not only a "weight loss program"... it has a Maintenance phase, too. It's meant to be a way of eating for life.

      Are you reading the 2002 edition of Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution?

        Yes, that's the book! As far as my menu, i officially start tomorrow. It's looks like eggs for breakie and chicken and veggies for lunch and dinner. I probably will get a little more creative as i get used to the program. Keeping it pretty basic in the beginning though. Entered this icon ... just cause i thought it was funny!

              Hi Raina-
              Regarding "lingo" you may see "DANDR" from time to time. That refers to the book "Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution".
