  • I am on my 3rd day of Atkins.

Hello! My name is Emily, I just started Atkins 3 days ago. So i believe i am just getting into Ketosis today if i am right. I have the 2002 New Diet Revolution book from when my mom did it years ago. She had great results. I Have tried a few diets, only had success with one other diet which was Weight Watchers, and i know that is totally different. I was thinking about going on that again, until i thought about Atkins, i did not want to go through the counting calories crap again and then just gaining it all back because its so strict. I also have Epilepsy, and my neurologists have previously recommended the Ketogetic Diet which is based off of Atkins and almost exact, but not focused on loosing weight. So i thought about it, if i change my life style and do Atkins, then i will benefit from it by loosing weight and it could possibly control my seizures. Soo annyway,,, I am doing great on my 3rd day soo far! Its been hard being hungry, but i have not once even cared about other foods. I am not a big eatter anyway, i dont like bread, pasta, or potatoes that much, i will just each them when my mother makes them for dinner, so i just wont do that anymore, or eat any other, or just very little carbs. I can live with that! If anyone has any advice for me for the INDUCTION PHASE, i would really love to hear it! I hope to see some weight loss soon, when did all of you start seeing the pounds come off? How much did you lose in the first week or 2?

    Welcome to ADBB!

    Its been hard being hungry
You shouldn't be hungry on Atkins. If you're hungry, then you should eat.

or eat any other, or just very little carbs
Make sure you are eating your vegetables. They are mandatory on Atkins and over half of your daily net carbs should come from them.
