I've been lurking about for the last four weeks, reading all I can about how to do this correctly. I lost nearly 9 pounds in the first two weeks, and haven't really made much progress on the scale since. Of course, as I have found out in my reading here, I haven't been drinking enough water, I have been eating an Atkin's bar each night as a treat, and I haven't been writing anything down like I should (and I KNOW I should do that from WW!). I think I need to tighten up!
My history...I am a lifetime member of Weight Watchers! Yay! I've tried nearly everything there is to loose weight. I actually took my first diet pills in 5th grade. I've expanded and contracted too many times to count. On January 1, 2009, I weighed 230 pounds. Last year I had a couple of major surgeries (unplanned!) and did WW the rest of the time and I actually lost 30 pounds! The last three months of that year and the first two of this one, I kept losing and gaining the same 10 over and over again. I think the worst diet I've ever tried was MediFast. It worked like a charm for those two weeks, but the "food" products were so awful that by the end of the second week, I could not even make myself swallow them. I'm 53 now and I really need to get healthy. I also need to get serious about the blood lipids. I am a meat-lover. Atkins and I seem like a great fit. After 4 weeks, I don't have any complaints about the diet. I've even gone out of town and managed to stay on the food plan.
So today, the bars are gone, I'm working on the water, and I'm weighing and measuring and journaling. I am also going to buy a copy of the updated book on payday (Wednesday). I can say that my clothes are fitting much better and I've actually gone down a size. My co-worker is doing this with me so we are kind of cheering each other on. I can do this. Many of you have been so successful and have such knowledge and good information to share! Bravo! I want to join that club! I'm still enthusiastic after 4 weeks. Usually I'm looking for ice cream by now, so that's a positive sign!
I'll be seeing y'all!!
PS--My computer skills are NOT great!
