    Hi I have just started induction today and really fancy something sweet!!!! Am i allowed coke zero ( the black can one)? Or can anyone give me some hints to help me with this craving?

    Welcome to ADBB, Emma!

    The best way to deal with cravings is not to feed them. One of the purposes of Induction is to break your addiction to sweets.

    Eat a pickle (with no sugar added).

    Go for a walk.

    Read a book.

        I had cheese omelette for breakfast
        decaff coffee with cream

        lunch chopped egg & cheese with green salad
        De caff coffee & cream

        Dinner- fish & salad

        About 1 litre of water

          What do you use for the salads? Are over half of your daily net carbs coming from vegetables?

          How many calories are in your menu? It doesn't seem like enough food to me.

          Do you add olive oil or something to the salad?

          Cream is limited to 2-3 tbs as a beverage... and the minimum for water is 64 oz (about 2 L). The more you weigh and the more active you are, the more water you'll probably need.

            I used mayonaise for the dressing. I had lettuce, tomatoes, onion & cucumber 1 cup of these for lunch & Dinner.
            I am not sure how to work out the net carbs for these but i thought you could just count them as cup sizes??
            I can see i need to drink more water!

              To figure out net carbs, you can use FitDay. It will show you total carbs and grams of dietary fiber, so to find net carbs you simply subtract dietary fiber from carbohydrate.

              Are you in the UK? If you use the carbs on the UK/European labels, those are already net carbs and no fiber needs to be subtracted. But FitDay uses the American way of showing nutritional info, so "their" carbohydrates include fiber.

              I had lettuce, tomatoes, onion & cucumber 1 cup of these for lunch & Dinner.
              You should measure how much lettuce, how much tomato, how much onion and how much cucumber you had... and enter everything in FitDay.

              It's difficult to say without knowing amounts of each, but I believe you are not eating enough vegetables. On the other hand, if you eat a lot of onion and tomatoes, you could be even going over 20 net carbs for the day.

              I used mayonaise for the dressing.
              Mayo is fine. Just don't forget to count the carbs in it.

                Thanks for your help. I have logged into fitday and you were right i did not eat enough!.

                Hopefully won't feel so hungry tomorrow.
