Hi gang!
Well i decided to use Atkin's to help me lose my baby weight.
I "was" a type 2 diabetic, but my A1C is a 5.4 using diet alone. Which did shock me, because i've been eating nothing but crap food and sweets. Not to mention i found Cannoli's when we moved here to NYC..
I am from the Pacific Northwest, south of Seattle. I was 200lbs at 15 years of age. So as an adult I don't know what a "normal" weight should be for me. I am thinking my long term goal should be 130/120lbs.
I have 4 cats; 1 hubby [military] and 1 son [18 months old].
I was put on bedrest at the end of my 2nd trimester, wasn't allowed to do anything!
So i re-gained 40-45lbs from the pregnancy and after. Is it still baby weight after 18 months?
I had an RnY Gastric Bypass, Dec. 6th '05. I don't regret it at all. But find it funny now that the Post WLS [weight loss surgery/surgical] diet is low carb/low sugar/high protein..
Sound Familiar?
Especially since I was told Never to do Atkins when i was diagnosed with my pre-diabetes in my early 20's [32 now].
While I don't regret my surgery [it gave me my son]; as most WLSers i know wished that they'd of tried one last time to "diet". I had never "done" Atkins because of being told not to. Aren't we supposed to adhere to our doctor's advice? lol
Doc never told me that pcos and diabetes go hand in hand; doc never told me that going low carb would get rid of dandruff/dry skin. [learned that following wls diet]
realistically i just want to lose the 40 i gained back. So i can look myself in the mirror again and like what i see.
Now that i can look back; I can say my lifestyle will be/should be a low carb one.
I am finishing up Jimmy Moore's 2nd book, then going to read DANDR, then the DANDR for Diabetics, then i even bought the 2010 book.
I am a collector of low carb cookbooks.
