Hi, I'm a new member here. I did the Atkins program years ago when I had my two children, who are now ages 15 and 18. It worked great, but as I got into my mid-40's and began perimenopause, the weight creeped back up. I started induction on January 30th at 180 pounds and today I'm at 166. I joined to get to know other members who are making the same journey and to access all the helpful information here.
I'm a little worried that I'm plateaued right now, but I tend to do so right before a monthly cycle and then afterward I break through the plateau, so I'll give it another couple of days before I get too concerned. I've been at 166 for about two weeks. Obviously, my hormones are all over the place with my age, so although the weight isn't moving as fast as it did years ago, the scale is still going in the right direction. I am sure that I'm continuing to lose inches even when the scale isn't moving though, because of the way my clothes are fitting and the fact that I continue to get back into things I had outgrown.
I just ordered the new Atkins book and am looking forward to reading it. I hear it has some new information and it's always motivating just to read up on the subject anyway.
Anyway, I'm happy to be here!
