    Re: I'm back

    Hello man:

Glad you are back and your wife is joining you.

There's a plus side to eating broccoli and most cruciferous vegetables: they can increase testosterone production thus helping you lose fat and gain lean body mass a bit more rapidly.

      Re: I'm back

Day 3 on induction. I feel im starting to go into ketosis if its posible after 2 days. The reason i say ketosis, is my appitite is real low and i got a funny taste in my mouth. Is it possible to be going into ketosis after 2-3 days?
Forgive me for not searching the sight myself but im away from my computer and just using my phone. But can someone send me a link on ketosis, what it is and how long it takes to get into that state. My appitite is very low but the wifes appitite is sky high. Thanks for any info you guys can give.
Side note- my energy level still dont seem to be going up like before. Im always tired

I don't have a link but what you describes sounds like ketosis. The time it takes to get there varies. With me it can take a while but for others it is quicker.

Join the club...I went back to induction on monday...I am definitely in ketosis and have the induction flu symptoms (including a killer headache) and less sleep...So yes, it is possible after just 2-3 days...

            Re: I'm back

Can't give you any more advice than what's already been given with the exception that if the wife has a monsterous appetite, tell her to eat more meat. The good thing about Atkins is, the first two weeks you can "pig out" on JUST ABOUT all the meat you want (keep away from lunchmeats or other processed meats if at all possible...hidden sugars or carcinogens lurk there) I try to keep it limited to lean pork or chicken due to my high tryglicerides and cholesterol as well as a tendency to get pancreatitis attakc if I eat too much fat. But last time I was on Atkins and did really well, the first two weeks I was all but ravenous, so I ate all the meat I could get my hands on, trying to keep full so I didn't go for carbs and comfort food. It worked. Make sure you are eating the required vegetables. It's not about how few carbs you can eat, it's about eating the right amounts of the right carbs. EAT THOSE VEGGIES...both of you. Congratulations on your rapid leap into ketosis...I'm not there yet, I don't think, but I certainly seem to have a handle on my appetite. And my blood sugar was as low as 125 yesterday! After 3 days on induction! YAY US!!!!
            Drink more water!

Yeah her appitite is huge right now. Our dinner was ribeye steaks (probably 16 oz) i cut up broccoli, cauliflower, celery, peppers and onions put butter with them in aluminum foil and put on grill with steaks. And made a salad. I ate the steak and a couple bites of veggies and salad, i was done, she ate hers and finished off mine. So her appitite is huge right now.

You should have had all the vegetables and a couple bites of the steak.

A pound of steak at one sitting ... that's a lot.

                  Re: I'm back

It is normal to have some super appetite before ketosis sets in. Make sure your wife eat fat though. If she eats too much protein it will convert to sugar and it may be harder to get into ketosis. Fat is the solution to most dilemmas

Actually after looking at the package it was around 11 oz, still alot, but it confuses me why I would eat more veggies (that contain carbs) and eat less meat (that contain zero carbs) I understand that you HAVE to have veggies and I am having them.

Going out today searching for a cookbook!
I CANNOT stomach any more EGGS!! Not everyday anyway.
I've been reading about muffins that are cooked in the microwave but cant really find a good recipe (especially on induction) HELP PLEASE.
But we are going out to look for a cookbook.

I need to start a new thread in another place I guess, seeing this is a place for introductions. I guess it will be in the 14 day induction area???

I think you are talking about MIMs. You can find the recipe here:
