  • Hey from Oxford, England

    Hey all

I am emira, I am 31 years old and come from Oxford, England. I am desperate to lose weight and the only thing that I have found that really helps is low carbs.
I lost about 3 stone a few years ago, but got married and put it all back on.
My husband is in the air force and is due to be deployed, I want to lose 3 stone before he comes home in August. Do you think thats pheasible?

Anyway - looking forward to getting to know you all

    Emira

      Welcome to ADBB!

      I love Oxford!!!

Whether or not you can lose 3 stone ... if you do Atkins as a lifestyle change, you will lose.

And ... thank him for his service.

          Welcome aboard, Emira!

I love Oxford too, almost as much as I love Atkins.

If you follow the rules and work the diet as written, you will be slimmer when he gets home regardless of the numbers on the scale and you will both be proud of you!

Good to see another Brit on the board. I'm in Manchester. Good luck to your hubby (I bet you're really proud of him) and I'm sure you will lose weight and feel great by the time he returns.

                  Re: Hey from Oxford, England

Hey, looks like we have similar goals, my husband is also in the airforce, deployed and due back in August! We are stationed over in Lakenheath. I would love to greet him at the gate with a new slim me, I have 25lbs to go to get back to wedding day weight having previously lost some with WW, I am hoping Atkins will shift the rest! Not sure if you have kids, but we have 3 and I struggle not to be tempted by the food I make for them. I think your weight loss is achievable if you really work hard, I am also excercising, jogging (a bit!) and some home DVD's which seem to have helped some.
                  Good luck

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
