I am a big opponent of drinking sweets so I am not the one to help you here I think it just trigger your responses to eat more food and it is not great. So I would advice you to try cutting it out. The more you try the better you may get at it.

Good luck. I hope things work out for you. Love your name too.

      Welcome to ADBB!

It's really best if you give up the sweet drinks because they cause cravings for more sweets.

I had the same problem when I started and I didn't like the taste of plain water at first so what I did was add 1/2 a tsp. of lemon juice to a quart of water. It's not enough to make it sour but it changes the taste of the water just enough to make it palatable. Now of course, I drink it plain.

I know it's hard to give up that sweet taste but after a few days, you won't even miss it!

        Welcome to the boards!

I had a hard time giving up pop too...I used to 'treat' myself to a decaf herbal tea in the evening the first few weeks (tea isn't usually my cup of tea...but it helped me get over my pop addiction). There are tons of awesome herbal tea flavours out there...you could prob make iced tea with them (just watch your #of servings, sweeteners (limited to 3 servings/day) and count the carbs in the tea)

          Hi,

Good luck this time around. I have found that surgar free diet lemonade is a great substitute. It is sweetened with sucralose and only contains trace amounts of carbs.
I always have this and water by my side, and it helps with those dodgy cravings one can get from time to time. I hope this helps.
