  • 23 lbs gone! And a Question???

    Hey

I just wanted to start off by saying Atkins is giving me my life back. I'm 18, and I've struggled with my weight all my life. After losing my mom, it got out of control and I found myself weighing 210.6 lbs, not to mention I'm only 5'3. I joined an LA Weight Loss center and got down to 189, but eventually quit because I was hungry and miserable. After a while, I gained all the weight back plus more. Last month I weighed 236.6 lbs and decided enough was enough. I started the diet on March 15th and have already lost 23 lbs. I now weigh 212.6 lbs with a goal weight of 138 lbs and I know I can do it with Atkins!

Since I have a lot weight to lose when should I move into OWL? I know I want to get out the 200's first but after that when should I move on? Any suggestions?

    Welcome to ADBB.
Sorry for your loss. That must have been hard.
Glad you have decided to take care of yourself. You have to be prepared to make this a lifestyle change or the same thing will happens as when you did the LA plan. So moving to OWL is the way to go. But the timing is up to you. Check your book Chapters 12 and 13 and think about what is right for you

If you move on to OWL you gradually build up your diet (therefore less chance of failure!)
If you stay on induction be prepared!
I am so sorry for your loss! I know thats not easy
