Hi everyone, I use to come here all the time about a year ago. I quit the diet when I got pregnant but I had my beautiful baby 4 days ago and I am ready to start again. I gained about 45 lbs while pregnant and hope to lose it all. Before I got pregnant I had hit my goal weight and had been on the diet for around 6 months so I am hoping I remember it all.

I want to thank everyone for the encouragement :hug
My baby just turned 3 weeks and is a perfect little angel.
My hubby is doing it with me this time around so it makes things a lot easier since he does all the cooking.
It seems like I am not losing as fast as I did last time but I hear that happens second time around.
Hope everyone is having a great day!!!

Hi Brfischer. Congratulations on the baby. A believe a baby is one of God's most ultimate blessings we receive in this lifetime.
I know you are anxious to lose your weight, but the health ed in me cannot help but have automatic red flags up right now. I do not want to be intrusive, but my concern is for both you and your newborn. If you are breastfeeding, you want to make sure you do not cut your caloric intake too much. This will affect your milk production, and in turn the nutrition of the baby. Your caloric needs are increased by 500 cals for you when you breast feed and it wouldn't be healthy for you to put more demands on your body at this time than it already has.
I read that Dr. Atkins recommends breastfeeding women to do the Atkins diet at the Maintenance stage until you are finished breastfeeding.
Take care and get some rest. Flo

hi Flo, thanks for your concern, but I am not breastfeeding.
If I was I definately wouldn't be doing any dieting as we tried to hard for this baby to do anything to hurt him but I canot breastfeed due to personal reasons so it's ok.
But thank you for your concern
