Well, I'm sure you'll be very successful if you follow the programme to the letter.
This board goes by the 2002 edition of Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution. That was the last version Dr A wrote in its entirety before his death, so hasn't been "messed around" by other people.

Keep us posted as to your progress.

            Re: Can't loose weight

I'm trying to learn the Atkins diet, but finding it a little bit harder than I thought. I've been reading here, and there, but don't have any books.

I have been trying to do a proper induction for the last week and a half, but I keep finding things I'm doing wrong.

I started getting pork belly sliced by the butcher, for my bacon. Since every packaged brand of bacon available here contains sugar.

I read where it's ok to eat fried meats, like pork chops, fried chicken, fried fish, and even beef. My problem, until yesterday, was that I was eating everything breaded.

I feel kinda dumb, since cutting out the bread and rice are a goal now, but I just didn't even think about the breading on fried food.

I've been doing pretty good on not being hungry. I could easily skip breakfast, but I've read that it's important to eat at least every 6 hours.

I'm not a calorie counter, and have never tried to measure food. I HAVE been filling up a coffee cup, with my salad greens, and veggies, for the last few days, so I'm sure I only eat the 3 cups that I'm supposed to have. I was eating bowl fulls, rather than cup fulls.

I've been eyeballing the cheese, keeping the portions small.

My problem is, when I start eating, I always eat too much, even though I'm really not hungry. To me, being "full", is being stuffed to capacity, but I'm trying to work on that.

I'm super motivated, to get it right, and shed this unhealthy fat. I appreciate this site. I'ts so big, with so much info... I'm really still just scratching the surface.

              Re: Can't loose weight

Knowing when to stop eating can be a tricky one... some of us find it easier than others. I too had this problem, and still have to be watchful of my portions at times.

One substitute breading for fried foods is parmesan cheese. Be careful to fry at a slightly lower temp though, as it browns/burns quite quickly. Other people use ground up pork rinds, but I've never tried this.
After induction, when you hit the nuts and seeds rung, you can also use almond flour or other nut flours as breading.

The book isn't hard to find cheaply on the web (and you can click on "buy the book" on the bar at the top of this page) . It would be a very good investment. Sounds like you are reading up here, and tweaking where you slipped up, which is great. Even so, I'd get hold of DANDR 2002. You won't regret it.
