    I like this forum - lots of info and neat people. I accidentally did Atkins about 10 years ago and lost 50 pounds in 100 days. I had never heard of Atkins at the time, but when I decided to get in shape I knew that carbs were my downfall. I cut them completely out of my diet, exercised daily and before I knew it, I was in the best shape of my life. When I got a job in construction, I went off my fitness regimen to no ill effect because I was burning major calories at work. Then I got a desk job and gained everything back and more and picked up Type 2 Diabetes on the way. Starting today I'm committed to my new plan - last night I bought a scale with a fat-o-meter and a pantry's worth of carb-free food. Wish me luck!

        HI and welcome Frank -- good luck to you! Make sure you are eating whole foods, not processed packaged foods. Have you read the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution book? It's the book we follow on this site.

        Exercise, take a non-iron multivitamin and drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), daily. If you need anything we try to help each other here as much as possible.

        I find it's easiest to plan meals for a few days in advance and stick to them --
        Linda's recipe site is very helpful with delicious recipes - it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes - Home (if the link doesn't work google Lindas Lowcarb).
