  • Help..Surviving The Flu,,,,the cough syrup

    Hi All

i joined a few days ago and have been walking 3-4 miles daily until yesterday. I have 20Kgs to go and i am discouraged. I have had a chesty cough for days but that did not stop me from keeping up with my eating 'obligations'.

I just realized that until i am better from the cough the syrup i have been taking is laced with honey and lemon. I am discouraged that i even if i eat right ,,,, i still having sugar from the medication ...

please share any experiences on what to do once you get sick while on Atkins ....

    Welcome to the board!

First off, congrats on your commitment to Atkins and your walking routine! As for the syrup, if you're sick and need it then take it. Try to eat the Atkins way and when you feel better you will be right back on plan.

    Take care of yourself!

I buy a sugar free cough syrup. It's "Diabetic Tussin".

And there's sugar free cough drops.

There's also medication that comes in capsule form.

There are sugar free alternatives out there. So ask at your pharmacy next time you stock up on cough remedies.

But I agree with Nyna. Just move on.
And also it is very normal to see a pause after the first loss but then it will start again so keep up the good work and see you around
