Hi Health Nut glad to see you back
Are you measuring as well as weighing. Sometimes the scale does not tell the whole story

Re: Had a stall and restarting....

Was that 3 lbs total during Induction?

3 lbs in 2 weeks does not a stall make. Dr. Atkins defines a stall as 4 weeks of no weight loss and no inches lost. Are you measuring? You may be losing inches.

Did you just start and finish Induction? If so, when? It's common to have a slight stall after Induction. If it's been more than a month, are you moving onto OWL? Most folks lose better on OWL when they have more variety and more veggies and some fruits .

Additionally, weight loss will not always happen every week, and sometimes it will be more, sometimes less. I've had months were I only lost 2 lbs (and that was without cheating and doing everything right). Weight loss will never be as fast as we'd like, the best we can do is stick to the program diligently and let it happen as it does.

Give it time. Also post a menu on the Review My Menu forum. Folks here are really good for offering suggestions on improving what you're eating for optimal weight loss.

Re: Had a stall and restarting....

Thanks everyone for your kind words...Today is day 1 of Induction...I had a big stall on induction because I was working out 2hrs a day and had the occassional Atkins bar...I am normally not a sweet eater however; when I am doing Atkins I find with-in the first week I crave sugar....I just need to do a clean Induction again....I have done LC and love to cook however; I had re-put my weight back on and still think I can make those great LC receipes while Induction is diffrent...I guess you can say I miss fruit and all the other LC stuff that I can make...I get bored on Induction and need to come up with diffrent stuff. I am going to pull out my Atkins book and re-read it...I have never done Atkins before however; if I look at my previous LC plan I did Atkins because I had more fat that alloud. I lost 45 pds in 2months B-4 and I am frustrated that its not moving for me...I also, realize its not the diet but me...I can not expect to loose if I don't have a clean induction...If anyone knows what I can take to stop the sweet cravings while I do Induction that would be most helpful...Thank you...I look forward to getting to know you on my journey and hope to check in everyday until my home gets under construction and that will be a challenge not having a computer for 2-3 weeks. Ouch!

Re: Had a stall and restarting....

Health Nut, it is my opinion that the only way to stop sweet cravings is to tough it out for the first week. I had them bad on Saturday and I just drank water and ate some pickles when it got bad....basically I ignored them. It seems like when I feed it (even sugar free), they come back and when I don't, they don't. I always know I *can* have it, but I don't every day. I can now handle a cup of coffee with sucralose in it and not feel like I've got to have another, or any other sweets for that matter. However, that might be totally different for you so you'll need to keep watch.

It might be good for you to open up a fitday account and log everything you eat, even the cheats, as well as your weight, your mood, your bowel movements (if you suspect you are having constipation issues) and anything else so that you can learn how your body reacts to the foods you are eating. It has been SUPER helpful for me. It does take a lot of time, granted, but if this is to be my WOE for life, I should take the time to learn it until it is ingrained. The idea for me is to maintain my weight forever, so it makes sense for me.

200mg L-Glutamine 3 to 4 times a day for a week should help with your cravings - what helped me was to cut out sweets altogether - the first couple days were tough but after the sweet demon is out of your system you'll start seeing how many foods are naturally sweet tasting on their own.

                  Good luck to you.

Some people never lose their cravings for sweets. But most do if they can just resist through that first 3 or 4 days. Then it starts getting much easier from there. Remember sugar substitutes and sugar free sweets will probably keep it active so if you know it's a problem you might just have to gut it out. You have to just be of the mindset that you will do this and cheating isn't even an option.

Thanks for stopping by Poobears! Like I mentioned B-4 its not that I like sweets to begin with...While I am on Atkins it becomes more pronounced...Maybe its because I can't have it and my mind figures why not???I don't know but I crave sweets when doing LC...I will move forward just trying to figure out why that is so....I heard L-Glutemen works wonders so I will start taking that if I have to...Thanks again
