  • Howdy, I'm new here!

Hi guys! I'm excited to be here. I am following the 10 things to do if you are new and 'saying hi' is the first one I guess. I'm 6'0" and weighed 222 yesterday and just starting the program. I started on Friday but wasn't sure what I was doing. A friend also on a no-carb diet bought me a diet energy drink which I had on Saturday then looked at the label, 29 crams of carbs! Damn...so Saturday was semi-shot. Weighed in at 222 on Sunday (yesterday) and stuck to the plan and this morning I'm down 3 pounds!

I bought a bunch of food that I am now going to have to throw out like fruits and corn on the cob and even some really good chicken sausage that has 19 grams of carbs. I guess I should have figured out what I was doing before going shopping...

Anyhow...happy to be here and excited to get rolling!

    Welcome..
We follow the Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution Book 2002 edition... It is very helpful to read it..
I had all kinds of junk in my desk at work that I assumed were good for me. fruit, oatmeal, wheat bagels.. ect... I gave it all away to people in the office that would eat it.

        Welcome!

Plan your meals for a few days so you have everything legal in your home. Linda's recipe site is very helpful with delicious recipes - it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/

I'm glad you bought a copy of the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) - read it and you'll have a leg up on being successful! Eat foods listed on the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html, eating a variety of foods and vegetables and count all “net carbs” (carb minus fiber equal net carbs).

Exercise, take a non-iron multivitamin and drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), daily. If you need anything we try to help each other here as much as possible.
