  • Hi everyone!

    This is my first day on Atkin's. I did it quite a few years ago, but I didn't follow the plan as I should have. I decided about a week and a half ago that I was going to begin Atkins and I started lurking around these boards. There is a lot of great information. I did go and buy the 2002 book (I don't think I actually read it last time) and I am determined to follow it.

    Luckily I have two roomates that have been following. They had been doing really well, but fell off the wagon. Now they are starting back on induction today. Hopefully that will help keep me motivated.

    Looking forward to the journey!

        The support team is great.. I had a friend in my dept that started 12 weeks ago and has lost over 30 lbs. A few weeks later I started low fat/calorie counting and lost 12 lbs... but stalled for weeks.. I was so frustrated because I was exercising everyday, and I was hungry. So 2 weeks ago I started induction and lost 10 lbs. Today another girl in our dept started induction... and next week I believe we have another..
        It is so nice to half the support and the lack of junk... cookies, candy, cakes being brought into the office twice a week.....

          Hi and welcome back to Atkins --

          Congratulations on making the decision to get back on plan! It's great you have the book (and will read it) and have buddies to help you. Eat the proper foods, exercise, take a no-iron vitamin and drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water.

          journal to keep track of themselves. It’s also a great place to meet new people or find old friends.

            Thanks everyone for the welcome! I think it is definitely going to help to have others with me. My office mate was supposed to start with me today. I printed out the acceptable foods because she didn't want to read the book. I knew it wasn't happening as soon as I saw her oatmeal packet She told me her head wasn't ready for it yet. Hopefully I will be so successful that it will bring her on board.
