  • New on board

    Good day everybody

After reading Dr. Atkins book I've decided to take myself in hand and loose the extra kg that are bothering me physically and surely affecting my health in the long term.

Let me tell you a little about myself:
I'm 58 but will soon turn 59 with nearly 6 kg extra that I would like to loose before I reach 60.
I'm 1,65 m tall and weight 60,7 kg, my goal 55 kg (the weight I had for nearly all my adult life). I guess that menopause played a dirty trick on me and now it's my turn at bat and I'll do what must be done to win the game.
Due to this I feel a little sluggish and since we are planning to sail cross the Atlantic next I must get in shape.

Thanks for reading me. This evening I'll post my menu for correction.

Right Liv, we are planning on crossing the Big Blue Nov or Dec 2011, but first we want to cruse the Mediterranean. I would like to loose my few extra kg before so as to be doing Maintenance once we're at sea (I believe it might be easer to follow on a sailboat than Induction or OWL).

        Re: New on board

Welcome! How are you doing so far? It may help to plan your meals a few days in advance so you don't have to think so much and make meal planning harder than it needs to be.

For recipe ideas Linda's site has been a lifesaver for me -
http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/. Your weight loss may be more or less than others so don't worry about how much someone else lost, follow the plan the way it's written and you'll have the best results for your body. Drink the minimum water daily (64oz or converted it comes to about 1.89 litre), exercise differently than just normal activities and take a vitamin with no iron added.

Good luck to you. If you need any help or have questions we're all here to help each other.
        Carole
