  • 1st time dieter.

Hi everyone, My name is Lorien and I have been "stalking" this website for the past week. I gained a ton of knowledge and inspiration, so I went out and bought The New Atkins For A New You book, and decided to join this site.

Unlike many people, I have NEVER been on a diet! I have always had very little self-dicipline, so I never pursued any diets either. Being only 24, I know now is the time to start. I'm doing this for many reasons; I have a bridesmaid dress to fit into by September (eek), My boyfriend deserves a partner that he is proud to be seen with, but more than anything, I'm doing this because I've lost myself. I think my catalyst was when for about the fith time, someone asked me at work "when I was due?"...I can't describe the shame I feel when I have to reply "I'm not pregnant, I'm just fat." After seeing the success of many members, I have been assured that I could make this a lifestyle.

I just wanted to thank everyone who posted in the Before and After Picture section...that was just the motivation that I needed.

    Welcome to ADBB
Glad to have you here. Sounds like you have plenty of motivation going.
We use Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution from 2002 here. It is slightly different from the new book so you may want to check if you find that one too. It can very often be found in used bookstores for cheap

Thanks, I did look for that book too, but unfortunately could only find this one. I will check out some online sites and see what I can find.
      Thanks again for the 'Welcome'!

If you can't find the correct edition of the 2002 book locally look on www.amazon.com or www.half.com under the used section. Both of my books were considered used but neither had ever been opened. I paid less than $5.00 including shipping for both of them. One is a hardbound copy and the other is a soft copy.

Congratultions on taking charge and making changes in your life. Good luck to you.
