Im not used to being the heaviest one in the family. i am tall for my gender lol at 5'8" i really want to be a size 12 or 14. i do not want to be skinny. just healthy. i gained a lot of weight because of a medical reason a few years ago, i am no ready to kick this into high gear. if anyone has and ideas or suggestions on how to do this the best way please let me know!

    Welcome to ADBB!

Are you reading Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002)?

    These should be helpful:

        Welcome!

Plan your meals for a few days so you have everything legal in your home. Linda's recipe site is very helpful with delicious recipes - it will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over --
http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/. Your weight loss may be more or less than others so don't worry about how much someone else lost, follow the plan the way it's written and you'll have the best results for your body.

Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily – more is better but at least 64 ounces. Take a vitamin w/o iron daily and exercise.

The 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) is our guideline here on the board - if you don't have a copy you really should get one and read it so you know the science behind the plan and how to follow it correctly. Eat foods listed on the acceptable food list
http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html - eating a variety of foods and vegetables and count all “net carbs” (carb minus fiber equal net carbs).

Make sure you weigh yourself and take your measurements day 1 - there may be times there is no loss on the scale but you'll find you are loosing inches.

If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck.
        Carole

            Welcome to the board!
I would recommend reading and following the DANDR 2002 version and add in some exercise daily that will help you lose the weight better.
