  • Starting over for the 3rd and FINAL TIME

Hi all my name is Misty and first and foremost above all I am a mother of a 6 year old little boy who has Aspergers. For those of you unfamiliar w/ the term he is on the Autism Spectrum-he truely is a blessing and is making this LONG journey I am about to embark on a WELL WORTH trip and challenge I lost 86lbs in 5 months on Atkins in 2002 I met my now hubby in 2003 and we had our son Braden and I gained all of what I lost and then some w/ that pregnancy. I have since attempted Atkins several times and failed just could not stick to it AT ALL. I realize I am getting older at 32 going to be 33 and I am starting to fell the effects of weight on my body something I never really felt prior to this I have been heavy my whole life and never had the aches and pains and just overall "not feeling well" on a daily basis. I now know something HAS GOT to be done and NOW so I am BACK ALL and ready for the challenge. I know anything is possible with will and determination and especially with the help of my many low carb friends

Hi Mistie, You are in the right place. There is a lot of help and encouragement here. I think you will find everything you need to encourage you in a positive direction. As for being a parent, what a job and what a joy. There are many ways to work with asperger's children and I have met several parents who have 'out experted' the experts!

You have a big assignment but your post hints at a strong heart that is up to the challenge. I'm glad you found us and wish you the very best in this new undertaking.

Hey hey Misty! Welcome back for good!

Yep--after 30 things start hurting in a way they never did in our 20s! Just wait til you get to your 40s....that's when the eyes and memory go! He he

Hey, if you need a buddy to chit chat with, I'm game. I'm on OWL rung 1, and plan on staying for a bit until I feel that I've got a handle on it, so I'm not that far ahead of you.

THANKS GUYS I ALREADY feel better see I started actually 5 days ago at 363.2 and weighed today at 358.6 so in a short time I have lost although I am retaining some water still my legs look a little puffy I need to exercise but dealing w/ a heel spur that is KILLING me I am only walking about 15 min then I have to stop because of my dang foot and standing at work for 8 hours dont help. Also I do have the old version of Atkins- have read and reread many times speed reader though=) So anyways yes I AM SERIOUS especially for myself and my son but also the na-sayers in my life who believe I should just get Gastric I WILL NOT I did it before and can do it again. Once again THANKS for your replys much appreciated and welcomed I am very excited to get on here daily and read and learn adn fill everyone in on my daily meals and exercise and only weigh once a wekk isnt that what ppl say???? I do however need to reconize portion control but am def feeling like I am in ketosis I am losing my hunger quickly and the sugary treats my son and hubby eat are not as bothersome I bust out w/ the diet rite and a little heavy cream and convince myself mine tastes better=) THANKS GUYS
